As YouWager bettors know, the Minnesota Timberwolves haven’t won a game in Toronto in nearly eight years, but things could change tonight.

Ricky Rubio will try to bring another inspirational performance for the Timberwolves tonight against a Toronto Raptors team coming off an embarrassing loss.

After spending the last two years playing in Spain, Rubio is quickly emerging as a solid point guard in the lague. In Sunday’s 93-72 win over the Washington Wizards, the rookie finished with 13 points, a career-high 14 assists one fewer than the entire team and six rebounds.

The 21 year-old came off the bench with 1:30 remaining in the first quarter with Minnesota (3-5) down by four points and quickly hit a 22-foot jump shot to start a 17-2 run that gave the Timberwolves plus-29 when Rubio was in the game the lead for good. The

A few years ago, back-to-back games against Liverpool and Manchester United would have brought dread to every football-loving Geordie but Newcastle United seem to be made of sterner stuff this season and Alan Pardew’s players will have enjoyed being in the limelight over New Year.

It was inevitable that the Magpies’ results and performances would suffer once their long unbeaten run came to an end and injuries started to mount up. They certainly haven’t got the strength-in-depth of other teams around them in the Premier League. But a win at struggling Bolton on Boxing Day stopped the rot and there’s no reason why a top-half finish should be beyond Newcastle, with the carrot of a place in the Europa League also possibly achievable. But few

One day later, some Cardinal quick hitters

To the surprise of nobody, left tackle Jonathan Martin and right guard David DeCastro announced Tuesday via twitter that they are entering the NFL Draft.

Both are seniors academically.

Martin will be a top-10/15 pick. DeCastro will be a first rounder but, as an interior lineman, may not be drafted as high as Martin even though hes arguably a better lineman.

Outside linebacker Chase Thomas is also considering a jump but, because hes not a lock for the top-three rounds, has a much tougher decision to make.

We might not know until next week.

The Fiesta was as good as the hype. Stanford made a few mistakes (penalties and turnovers) and blew a few coverages on Justin Blackmon.

But thats all to be expected.

Is that difficult to find a bleach blond spikey haired white dude in Thailand? So last night Junie Browning posted on his Facebook that he was basically forced to defend himself after 11 or so men picked a fight with him to test the skills of a UFC fighter guy. He said he was battered with objects and then a Thai women stabbed him. He then broke a few jaws in self-defense before passing out from blood-loss and was resuscitated. Here is the full account as posted by Browning:

But as there are two sides to every story, it seems the bar filled with Thai folks disagree with Brownings account and a waitress says an irate Junie Browning started the brawl, which was said to have continued at the hospital (perhaps, after resuscitation).

Anaheim fired coach Randy Carlyle at the beginning of December because his message had been lost on his players but it seems like the Ducks are taking awhile to

The Coyotes got out of the gate fast this season but have lost four of their last six games and havent looked good in any of those defeats. They have lost their last two games by a combined score of 9-3 but now head into the Duck Pond to play an Anaheim team that really struggles to score goals (29th at 2.28/game). Phoenix has already beaten the Ducks once this year and are 9-2 SU in their last 11 as road favorites. They are also a team that understands how to bounce back as they are 22-8 SU after losing by 3 or more at home and having won their last four divisional games, the Coyotes will be playing hard tonight.
