Reaction I: Unlike Brigham Young, which was invited to join the WCC in the summer of 10, Pacific wont raise the leagues profile, improve its TV revenue or increase its NCAA units (at least not as often as BYU). Rather, Pacific was added because 10 teams makes for easier scheduling than nine and UoP was clearly the best option for No. 10.
Reaction II: Heres another way to look at it: The conference secured 18 guaranteed games (nine teams, each playing UoP twice) against a team that its membership was already scheduling.
