There seems to be some confusion at the bookies as to who Minnesota have pitching game one of this double header – as I have it Anthony Swarzak, who was due to start the night game will now start the afternoon game because that games original starter is injured, ok, got that. Anyway, Swarzak takes the start in game one and will look to build on a decent return to the big leagues. This will be his 5th start of the season and has a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 2.84. The Twins come into this in blistering form, since June 2nd they have record of 26-12 which just pips the Red Sox to the best record in baseball over that period. After a dreadful start that impressive run has seen them pull back into contention to challenge the Indians and Tigers at the top of the AL Central. Cleveland were the surprise of the first half of the season in the AL and are still hanging on to top spot but the others are closing. They are a slight percentage point above Detriot but their time looks about up as Central leaders. They are 2-5 in their last 7 and their general trend is a downward spiral. They send David Huff to the mound, who has himself just been recalled from the minor league and this will be his first start back in the big leagues this season. The Twins have won 12 from 16 in the league and 9 from 10 against the Indians, 6 straight in Minnesota and look a decent bet to close the gap at the top even more.
