The New York Mets face a San Francisco Giants side who are currently top of the National League West. Giants probably have the better pitching option in Matt Cain but he has the lowest career run support of any active pitcher with over 150 starts. Giants rank just 27th in runs scored, 25th in batting average, 24th in on base percentage and 26th in slugging percentage. That represents quite a low ranking for a team at the top of a division and shows the National League West to be a bit weak. The Mets batting is a much stronger proposition.
