Atlanta Braves visit low scoring spacious Petco Park to take on San Diego Padres. Braves have been in good form and have won four straight games including a sweep of Toronto Blue Jays. This run will surely come to an end sometime, will it be tonight? Derek Lowe is the Braves starting pitcher. He was the starter the last time Braves lost in an extra Inning against Texas Rangers. There is no question about the Braves batting line up with catcher Brian McCann leading the team in most batting categories. Padres reply with a solid pitcher in Tim Stauffer. In his last outing he allowed just one earned run on six hits but ended up on the losing side with no run support from his batsmen. In the game before that he no runs but the Padres lost again. Before that it was a two nil win against Colorado Rockies. Stauffer has pitched twenty-two innings over three matches and allowed just that one run. The outcome of this match will depend on Padres batsmen and if they can get fired up to support Stauffer. They did win their last two matches at Boston Red Sox and in the three matches against them scored five runs on all three occasions.
