In case you missed it (how could you!) Andre Villa-Boas has been appointed as the new manger of Chelsea, and for a whopping £13m fee at that!

So by that logic Villa-Boas is, give or take a couple of million, worth an Ashley Young or a Phil Jones, or even three Kevin Nolans! Well when you put it like that, maybe Chelsea have a point

But is an Alex McLeish worth a Kevin Nolan, or 2 and half Scot Carsons (who is probably the surprise transfer of the month, joining Buraspor in Turkey for £2m)? only time will tell for Villa fans.

But all this talk has gotten Armchair Punter wondering about what a top 10 manager transfer list would look like. If, as it seems to be, a new manager transfer market is being created. Who would be on your top 10 and how much would you want your club to pay for them? Feel free to pick holes in APs top 10 below:

1) Mourinho £50m He may not be the Special One, but he is still my number one manager at the moment. Has won titles in 3 countries and part one of the Real Madrid project is complete by making them competitive again. Crucial season for him next season though 2) Guardiola £40m Comes across a great person and manager. Undoubted success and created one of the best club sides of all time. Only question mark is whether he could repeat the feats elsewhere or continually build new championship winning sides like Ferguson. 3) Ferguson £25m Has just picked up title number 19 and knocked Liverpool of their perch. One of, if not the, current greatest managers around. Only reason he doesnt come in the top 2 is the depreciation of his transfer value due to age. 4) Wenger - £17.5m Wengers stock to coin Barcelonas phrase has depreciated after 6 barren years. But still one the greatest tacticians and developers of youth around. Fans from almost any side would be happy to have him leading their team 5) Andre Villa-Boas £13.1m Like Jordan Henderson, the benchmark for all future managerial transfer fees (Did i really just compare Henderson with Villa-Boas?). Quick success but still a lot to prove 6) Laurent Blanc - £9m In my opinion, one of the future great managers. As elegant off the field as was on it 7) Guss Hiddink £7m Would probably say he is the bargain on the list. Only his age and relatively easier accessibility keeping his price down. 9) Redknapp £5m The Wheeler Dealer is not always given the credit he deserves. But his success and style of play once given the opportunity at a bigger club in Spurs deserves credit. Has generated positive change at every club he has been at and could be an interesting candidate to replace Fabio Capello 10) David Moyes £3m One of the longest serving managers in the premier league and that alone deserves credit. Has achieved various successes for Everton on one of the tightest budgets in the league. Cant help thinking though that it is time for him to step out of his relative comfort zone and take on a new challenge.

Free transfer bargain list Carlo Ancelotti, Martin ONeill and Louis Van Gaal among others.
