Host nation Argentina were booed off the pitch by their own fans after a second successive draw in the Copa America (Copa America top goalscorer – Carlos Tevez 8/1).

Argentina could only muster a 1-1 draw in their opening game with Bolivia and were again left frustrated by a resolute Colombia, who managed to secure a 0-0 draw.

Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez, players who enjoyed fantastic seasons at club level with Barcelona and Manchester City respectively, could not force a breakthrough and Argentina face the prospect of having to beat Costa Rica in their final group game on Tuesday to reach the next round.

Bolivia face Costa Rica on Thursday and a win for the Bolivians would see them move ahead of Argentina in the Group A table (Match Betting – Bolivia 11/10, draw 23/10, Costa Rica 13/5).

However, Sergio Bastia remains optimistic his side will reach the knock-out stages and the Argentine boss is confident they can still take the top prize at the end of the tournament.

“Things are not going for us right now the way we want them to,” explained Bastia.

“We have a game against Costa Rica and if we win that we will have five points and go through. We have to keep calm.”
