To win on horse racing, the concept is pretty simple: your horse has to win the race.  However, it is also possible for you to win if the horse comes in second, though you won’t win as much money as if the horse had come in first.  Another kind of bet that you can make is called “across the board” which is technically allowing you to make three separate bets.  The first is that the horse will win, the second is that the horse will place (come in first or second), and the third is that the horse will show (come in first, second or third).
